Don't even start to talk about man-hours when you know as well as everyone else here that most miners in an alliance with their BS support are all run by the same person... That mining op of 10 people, consisting of 8 hulks and 2 BS is run by a total of possibly 2 people, maybe even 1. That's why you can't catch your 'AFK Snipers'...
Okay then, let's talk about counters... Instead of 2 BS, how about a BS and a ceptor? The ceptor can MWD out to the cloaking snipers before they can even lock a mining barge, then the BS can warp to them and kill them. How about instead of 2 BS, 2 Jamming Scorps? Just sit there and jam up the recons and sniping BS. Granted you won't kill them, but they won't kill you either! After a few days of getting jammed each time they try and get a kill, they'll get bored and leave!
Oh, but they're damaging your hauling and mining... Right, so those haulers that are lugging around minerals? Are they AFK too? The recons would probably only attack if a hauler came out 15km from a gate... WTZ and AT KEYBOARD hauling makes it nigh on impossible to catch someone. An Iteron Mark V with all Istabs in the lows can warp before anything short of a ceptor can lock them.
And you seriously think all those miners are sat at their keyboards 23/7 as well?
Nerf AFK cloakers, and I want a timer put on AFK miners as well or any mining characters with 1 IP address between more than 1 ship. Let's say a 1 minute timer for those miners. No? Unfair? Is it not fair that you can't mine AFK, go get a sandwich while your hauler fills up?
The people that want to nerf AFK cloakers are the same people that want this game to have consensual PvP and it makes me physically sick. If you hate the game so much, I suggest you go play Hello Kitty World Online or WoW, they have consensual PvP, maybe you'd like that more?
Oh, even in WoW you can run around as a Rogue cloaked, then on PvP servers, decloak and kill someone without them knowing anything about it! How do you know that Rogue wasn't AFK the whole time until you walked past him? Do you want that nerfed too?

Seriously, if you don't like the game THIS MUCH, please leave, I'm sure we'll cope without you... Just stop trying to ruin the game for everyone else, for other paying customers like myself, just because you want a little 'YES/NO' message box to come up when someone wants to engage in PvP with you.
Back on topic, to sum up...
AFK cloakers? Yes, they're a pain in the bottom! They affect everyone, not just miners! We don't know if the other guy in local who's been there for 4 hours is AFK or sat 10km away from our fleet saying 'Felysta Sandorn is in an Abaddon' to his FC, and there's nothing I can do about it! I accept that, but there is a counter! Be prepared! If you know they're going to decloak at 160km and snipe you, but damps on your barge or your protection ship. If you know they're going to instapop you, fill your mids and lows with plates and extenders! You seem to know exactly what they do, so it's EASY to counter them! 160km decloak for a BS sniping, means he needs 10 seconds to recalibrate before firing. With a ceptor, you can travel to him in 14 seconds. That gives him maybe 1 volley on your barge, with extenders, that isn't enough to kill. Then he has to warp. If it is 1 person playing 4 accounts, they won't have the time to warp all 4 ships before you get a point, then you can kill his ships. Problem solved, 8 t2 tachyons for you, no more cloakers in your system.
Alternatively, pay someone to look after you... No, no-ones getting paid 60k a year, but you can pay them 50mil a day and they'll watch your ship!
It's called Risk versus Reward. A cloaking, sniping BS is a huge risk to a PvPer, and takes a lot of skill to kill something and get out. Way more skill than targetting a roid and clicking your mining lasers. And he gets a fraction of the reward for doing so than you do for mining.
So stop trying to ruin one element of the game!
